Work In Progress: The Brinomancer

I was on quite a roll with making Glogtent. Then I got distracted by other things. This is my first foray into creating a wizard. Still gonna flesh out the spells and obviously give it some actual templates. This is just a sort of skeleton of what will become my wizard of the ocean. Hope you enjoy!

The Brinomancer

The ocean is scary. It is truly a terrifying place full of the most warped and twisted creatures imaginable. The brinomancer is a caster that harnesses some small fraction of the ocean’s might.

A:

B:

C:

D:

1. Fog

R: 30’ | T: self | D: [dice] hours

You breathe out a bunch of fog. Everything up to 30’ away from you is obscured. Sunlight, wind, or heat dissipates the fog in 10 minutes. If you cast this spell with 3 or more [dice], other casters cannot cast spells within the fog.

2. Drown

R: 30’ | T: creature | D: [dice] rounds

You summon water in your target’s lungs, causing them to begin drowning. Deals [sum] damage to creature each round unless creature succeeds a constitution or equivalent save.

3. Thalassaphobic Projection

R: 30’ | T: [dice] creatures | D:

You project visions of the deep and all the pain and suffering that dwells there. Creatures must save. On a failed save, targets cannot make attacks against you, and must take their movement to move out of range of the spell from your location. Targets may repeat save each round.

4. Shape Water

R: 60’ T: [dice]^2 cubic feet of water | D: concentration

You take control of a small volume of water. You may move objects up to your weight that are in contact with the volume of water. You may use this spell to slow the swim speed of a creature by 10ft/[dice].

5. Tentacle Whip

R: 50'; T: creature; D: Instant

You transform one of your hands into a long tentacle and lash against your foes. You deal [sum] + [dice] damage to the target, no Save.

6. Bioluminescence

R: touch | T: [dice] biological creatures | D: [sum] hours

You touch up to [dice] living, biological creatures. They glow with light that illuminates 30ft around them. This spell does not work on constructs, undead, or any creature not made of living biological matter.

7. Speak with Salt Water

R: touch | T: handful of saltwater | D: [sum] Minutes

You scoop some saltwater into your hands and drink it. It’s brackish taste gives you information about what happened in the nearby waters. The water tells you what vessels and creatures have passed through a radius of [Dice] miles from where you cast the spell.

8. Devouring Maw

R: 60ft T: up to [dice] objects and/or creatures D: [sum] rounds

A giant spectral mouth appears for a moment, swallowing the target(s) whole. When the duration ends or when dismissed, the mouth reappears to spit them back out, having taken [sum] damage unless you wish them unharmed.

9.

10.

11. Tidal Wave

R: unlimited | T: 1 mile of coastline | D: [Dice] hours

You cause an immense wave to form, crashing down onto a stretch of coastline that you choose. Any creatures along the coastline take [Dice] + [sum] damage. That stretch is flooded for [dice] hours.

12. Call Kraken

R: unlimited; T: kraken; D: special

You call upon the legendary kraken and beckon it to you. The kraken arrives in 24 - [sum] hours and stays as long as it wishes. You may impose [dice] simple requests upon the kraken.
